On behalf of the University, the School and the Council for Australian University Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) I am writing to thank you and your team for your excellent support in the staging the “CAUTHE 2006 Conference – to the city and beyond…” which was held at the Sofitel Melbourne 6 – 9 February 2006.

The Conference, which was the 16th Annual CAUTHE Conference, has been widely proclaimed as the biggest and best CAUTHE Conference ever. Over the four days we hosted more than 380 delegates and visitors including 52 Professors and 96 PhD Scholars from 77 Universities across 17 countries. Our preliminary figures indicate that the event contributed in excess of $3million to the Victorian economy over the four days of the conference.

The formal feedback from the delegates was also very positive. The high level of service provided by Fox Events to our delegates in helping them register, submit papers, book accommodation and sign in at the conference was exceptional and greatly valued by the delegates. Several delegates commented very positively about your team on how friendly and helpful they were.

For our part, Jane and I are deeply appreciative of your and Bev’s efforts in holding our hands through this daunting, but none the less, very exciting event. Your accessibility and frankness was particularly helpful to us in making the tough decisions that are necessary for a successful event. Similarly, your cool, professional calmness through our various (and inevitable) crises saved the day and our sanity on many occasions.

Finally, you should know that we have received nearly 60 unsolicited emails praising the conference. Many of these are from the most senior Professors in our discipline. These people travel the world and attend as many as 10 conferences a year and, as such, are particularly critical and demanding. Many have indicated that this was not just the best CAUTHE or academic conference, but the very best of any conference they have attended.

In conclusion, again, thank you for your great support. We could not have achieved such a successful conference without it. Please feel free to show this letter to potential clients and note that we would be delighted to offer a spoken reference if required.

Sorry I had to dash on Saturday night to catch the last train. I didn't get a chance to say a proper goodbye and thank you to all my CCA mates.

Congratulations to you all for a very professional job. You are tops at what you do and I have never been better briefed or assisted to do my easy part (well, I make it look easy) of what is a team effort.I'm fully aware that your work is the stage on which I tap dance. This time someone tried to pull a few planks out but we troupers carried on in fine style.

Some people in life always wonder what is on the other side of the wall. Others, like us, try and jump over and in the process we cop some cuts, bruises and the odd broken bone.

I'm hope we can jump over a few more walls in the future.You all rock.

This is an informal thank you for all your work on Congress 2003.

Our event was a great success, and all due to the hard work put in by CCA to over come everything that came our way in the tree years or organising theevent.
